Local Legacy

If you're from the Avon area, chances are you've heard of the Coyne family. For more than 100 years, the Coynes have been a cornerstone of the community, operating a local dairy farm. But their legacy goes far beyond agriculture—it's also deeply rooted in tradition and family values.

One such tradition began a generation ago when Gerald and Carol Coyne had custom footstools hand-crafted for each of their grandchildren. These stools became more than just furniture; they became treasured keepsakes.

Last year, we were honored when one of those grandchildren, Maggie, approached us on behalf of her grandparents. She brought in her own stool as a model. As she shared fond memories of using it growing up, it became clear just how meaningful these pieces were to the family. In fact, every grandchild still has and cherishes their stool to this day.

Maggie asked if we could help carry that tradition forward by creating stools for the next generation – the great-grandchildren. How could we possibly say no?

Using Maggie’s original as our guide, we recreated the design with care and craftsmanship. Each stool is made from solid American cherry hardwood, built to endure for generations. While the design remains consistent, each one is personalized with the child’s initials carved into the top—making every stool uniquely theirs.

To date, we’ve made about 15 stools, and we hear there are more great-grandchildren on the way!

To the Coyne family: thank you for inviting us to be part of your story. Watching your tradition continue into the next generation is truly inspiring, and we’re honored to play a small role in it.
